engine wont start

From: down the street,bythe river in the van, co, united states
so the other day me and my friend were driving his 95 ls the motor is stock with just exhaust and a aem coldair intake it was snowing that day and we got stuck in a street there was a big puddle of water that the intake probably took up and went into the engine so his revving it to see if we can get out and the car just dies! it didnt want to start so we towed the car home and still it wont start we havent checked anything on it so id thought id *** here for advice wat u guys think happened to the car it wont even crank over o nothing and suggestions are helpful on trying to get this car running again thanks

you might have hydrolocked the engine...
see if insurance will cover it, they covered mine.

i had cold air intake, header, and exhaust.. he didnt really seem to care. I guess it just depends on the insurance company, and on the actual adjuster.
just to be safe.. swap back to stock!

this is true.. the spark plugs could be wet, and not allow the engine to start.
I didnt have to do any of this.. my insurance company just came out and issued me a claim and said I could get a new salvaged engine..
They even let me keep my hydrolocked engine... I'm gona build it in the future.. maybe the summer
