Just put in a JDM B18c got it running but was very hard to start and once It finally started if I gave it gas it would die .... I was thinking MAP sensor ... I'm not throwing any codes tho so I don't know where to look

 

Three things for an engine to run: gas, air, ignition source. The next step once you have figure that is not the problem rule those out, and then see if you have compression, then your mechanical timing. (up on the cam gears, white mark on the crank pulley lined up with the timing cover on the bottom.

 

yea .. the weird thing is I have spark, fuel pressure, and pulse at the injectors ... no engine codes .. when i got the car running I checked the timing and it was on the white mark (i thought it was supposed to be a red mark) ... it would idle but it sounded like a washing machine not huge surges just not running right .. just sounded rough .. like a misfire .. but as soon as I tried to give it gas it would bog out .. IDK

 

LAst time you did a tune up? plugs wires? Bad gas? bad spark plug wires ? loose spark plug wires?

 

It's a JDM B18cr haven't even pulled out of my garage yet .. straight from japan .. I didn't replace the dizzy was thinking it might be a weak coil or ICM .. who knows where or how long the motor was sitting for ... I've got brand new plugs but didn't do the wires ...
