I'm in MD and i'm doing a GSR swap possibly within couple weeks...

Could anyone tell me whats the rate for motor swaps nowadays....
heard something like $500-600 in West coast...

How about here...
MD/VA/DC/PA/NJ/NC areas??

$500-600? That's crazy.

Most places here charge over $1000....and that's if you have everything they need (mounts, harneses, etc).

If you can find a deal for $500-600, I'd jump on it. That's my opinion though.....damn East Cost.

 

i've heard $1500... but thats for an SR20DET swap.

Me and my buddy usually do swaps for like 500-600 range. Depends on the car and what kinda motor. We have only done b series on to eg's, ek's, and dc2's. We havent done any h22 ****, which is harder. A swap usually takes us a whole saturday or the weekend depending how it goes.

 

my car is a 98 LS...and most likely its gonna be a b18c1 motor....and i'm in bmore...perhaps u can help me w/ the swap. let me know if u're interested.
i have classes at U of maryland during the week so the weekend actually works out perfect.

i read somewhere that u guys have shops practically every block doing engine swaps......

we need more shops here on the east coast.

 

if you heard 500-600... that's pretty damn cheap.. it usually runs around $1000-$1200 where i am.. unless you have some hook ups...

Armani, u wouldnt want shop every block tat can do swaps. then y would u want a swap for when everyone else gots one. .. dont find a cheap place for the swap, look for the quality of work, in the long run a few extra hundred will be well worth it.

 

Yeah i can prolly help you, im in colonia, even closer to clark. I have never worked on a g2 tho.

 

damn. u guys are getting raped on installs. before i started doing my own, i used to pay 450 for stephan papadakis( u know, the fastest honda man ) to take out and out back in. and he even gave ame a call when it was done. extremely good customer service when he had his shop. shop around..im sure someone in the east coast can hook it up.
