my friends motor is running pretty hott.... i can tell becuz his motor is very hott even on the valve cover the botls on top of there burns to touch why is it so hott... the temp gauge isnt high or anything... the car has bolt ons and cams and IM any suggestions

 

Stop touching the motor.

Unless his car is seriously overheating there is nothing to worry about. The temp guage should rise into the 3/4th area before you need to panic.

If it consistantly overheats like that, look into the thermostat and flush the coolant out of the block.

Hell, you should prolly just flush the coolant out of the block for maintaince sake anyway.
