make sure you have enough coolant in the system, if it's low on coolant the thermostat wont open up and you'll overheat.

if the overflow bottle is full it should be okay because the hose in the bottle will suck anything it can if the radiator needed more fluid

maybe the thermostat stuck? just a thought

brother had same problem when he drained coolant in his car. He had a air pocket in the radiator and lines. Drive for a couple days and it finally worked the air out.

i would add coolant to the radiator itself. the coolant tank on the side fills up the radiator once the thermostat opens up and creates a vacume inside the radiator. it sounds as if your thermostat isnt opening up in the first place, so fill up the radiator till it doesnt take anymore, and then make sure your reserviour tank isnt above the max line.

on a side not, my car was overheating last week after i changed the piston rings/valve seals and the thermostat... what i found to be the cause was that in disconnecting my hoses i spilled a good amount of coolant (to the dissapointment of my parents driveway). the car would overheat after driving it around for a while, and i got a wierd idle and some other oddities. i thought my new thermostat was defective so swapped it out again and still had the same problem. well then it occured that all the stuff i spilled caused there to be air pockets in my liqiud system. the thermostat isnt going to want to open up unless there is fluid in contact with it. i hope this helps to take care of your problem.

i dunno what year integra you have, but if its a 3rd generation gs-r i can tell you your thermostat islocated behind the distributor and infront of your throtle body. follow the large black hose from the bottom of the radiator up to that area. there is a little housing with an electical clip and ground on it and two 10mm nuts. with a unaversal socket you can take it out no problem and put a new one in for less than 10 bucks and less than a half an hour. don't be a dumbass like me tho, place a catch can or bucket under your car to catch the coolant as it comes out of the hose...or drain your coolant before you do it.

edit: i think its the same however for the all b18 engines, not just the gs-r. also, if all else fails and you need to get from point A to point B without overheating you can take the thermostat out of the housing. this will allow the coolant to flow freely. you will run very cold tho, which isnt great for the engine, but its no where near as damaging as overheating.

Had my coolant drained and dealer forgot to bleed the system. This caused overheathing w/in 5 min of driving. Just bleed the air out the radiator. I would almost guarantee that is the solution.
