I JUST GOT A CAT-BACK EXHAUST INSTALLED AND NOW MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. IS IT TRUE THAT IF I UNPLUG MY ECU FOR 15 MINS IT WILL GO AWAY? IF NOT HOW DO I MAKE IT GO AWAY!????

it will go away, even you disconnect battery. but check the code if its o2 sensor, reset. but it might be something else. just to be safer.

When you put your cat back on did you replace the cat with a test pipe? Is your ECU ODBII? If it is, did you plug both of your O2 sensors back in? If you did, check your codes, it's probably a 02 sensor. DO THIS BEFORE YOU CLEAR IT BY UN-HOOKING YOUR NEGITIVE BATTERY CABLE. It only takes 5 seconds for it to clear once you've un-hooked it. So make sure you check you code, something more serious could be wrong.

you'll have to reset it often though. Mine comes back every few days but it'll randomly turn off. Nothing serious. I stopped resetting it, i don't notice a difference in performance with a CEL for cat.

mine sometimes comes on about every 3 times i start my car
look for a blue button under the steering colum, its a reset button and your car is fine , it happened to me. just turn your car off and press it a couple times you should be fine
