Hey Guys,

I just got an oil change and the pinging or knocking in my engine sounds a little more pronounced. Has any one heard of top oil? It's supposed to quiet your lifters. I use sythetic oil and was wondering if top oil is ok to use with it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Mobil1 is the only oil I use.

Heck, when it's the oil prefered for Porsche and Mercedes, I know it's the best for my little Honda engine.

 

Honda motors do not have lifters.

Ummmmm......no oil will quiet valves......the knocking/pinging could in fact be your valves that are out of adjustment, without a more detailed description of the sound I can't give you anymore advice......HTH

 

Just got some Techron Fuel System Cleaner. Going to see if that helps.........
