emission question
hey guys just got a 2000 gsr and went to go get it emission tested today so i could do my registration. i had the battery disconnected for the week while i was away at school(didnt want it to lose charge wasnt sure how good the battery was). so i get there and they plug the car into the comp(OBDII) and it says that the memory of the ecu was just erased.(they said i didnt fail) however i have to drive the car around for x amount of miles tell it resets or something. im just not sure if the car will pass emissions when i bring it back. my mods that are in question include: skunk2 intake manifold and test pipe. the car never through a cel since i bought it a week ago. Any advice? try not to flame me too bad i just havent gone through emissions before.
If they are actually performing emissions testing (I'm not certain what's involved with WA inspection), you are definitely not going to pass with a test-pipe installed. You'll also be lucky not to receive a hefty fine.
they dont put anything up the exhaust pipe just plug it into the ecu and the previous owner passed it in oregon which has a similar emissions testing procedure.
