I installed my pioneer p-840mp head unit yesterday. Made sure all the wiring and harness was correct and everything. When installed it, it was working, than moved it around it blacked out and so did the in dash clock blacked out as well. NOw i have a radio i just bought doesn't work and no clock to look at. Check all the fuses and it's all ok. Also checked the radio fuse it's all ok either. What do you think is wrong and what do you think I can do?

 

You shorted something out, did you use electrical tape and all the right connections?

 

did u check all the fuses
i did the same thing and all the fuses under the dash were fine but there are fuses under the hood by the passager door adn there is one that i believe says radio relay
check that one

 

happened to me when i installed radio/amp/subs. i touched somthing by accident and blew the fuses. So check the interior fuse. As for your radio, did you install with a harness or did it plug right in? check the ground wire.

 

7.5a Backup fuse located next to the battery in the engine compartment.

 

I did use a wire harness i bought at a local stereo shop. Checked all the fuses underneath the dash and the fuses turned out all ok. The ground wire, where is that located??? I didn't use electrical tape. I used wire crimpers things I bought at a local Kragen store.

 

you blew a fuse double check.

 

check the fuses, inside and under hood. including the big ones, if i am correct your lighter shouldnt be working either.
