Electrical Problem.
Ok so I've tried finding a post with the similar problem, but no luck.
So I have a 1998 GSR with a 97' B20b, that I just bought. I noticed that with the key out of the ignition, I can press the brake pedal and the cluster will light up, brakes, front bumper corner lights will light up, and side marker lights will light up.
When I am driving I also noticed that my turn signals blink very fast.
I did notice that the left corner turn signal is not connected and the wires are cut.
What could be the problems??
Please if anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Mine did this when I had a brake light out. I'll say fix the turn signal wiring and see what happens. It cant be helping the problem.
Welcome to HT. Its nice to see a new user that knows how to spell.

Thanks for the welcoming.
I'll try to get the turn signal wiring fixed asap.
Does anyone know why the lights would be turning on when i press the brake pedal with the key out of the ignition??

Out of curiousity, has the car always done this? Or rather was the first time you discovered it just the first time you noticed it?
If so, I would guess that because the one turn signal is not wired up, the car thinks the bulb is out. Like I said, when I had a brake light out, mine did the exact same thing as you described. I'm thinking there is a correlation between the non working turn signal and all of the lights coming on when you step on the brake.
If you have the door open, no key in the ignition, step on the brake pedal. Do you hear a beep as if you left your lights on? If so, fix the turn signal, problem should go away...unless you have another bulb out.

You have either a poor ground on one or more of your dual filament bulbs, [park/brake light bulbs] or the filaments in one or more of the bulbs are touching each other.
Remove all the dual filament, [brake/park light] bulbs in the tail light assemblies, step on brake, if the cluster does not light up, replace the bulbs one at a time, when cluster lights up again when stepping on brake, you have found the bad bulb or bulb socket with the bad ground. 94

How would I go about fixing the cut wires on the left turn signals?
Keep in mind, I do not want a quick fix. I want to fix it the proper way and be done with it. I hate not doing things the right way.
Thanks guys

Radio Shack: soldering iron, good rosin core solder, heat shrink tubing, and possibly that liquid tape to seal it?
I tend to do it that way, though I have used fingernail polish as a sealer.
