Icon2 Electrical Issues

I have a 96' integra SiR boosted with a B18C1 engine. It has a factory ECU with Greddy E-manage Blue & an Apexi AVCR. My music system had a wire touching the inside of car causing a fuse to blow. This resulted in the radio stopped playing in addition to the display clock nolonger lit up. The fuse was found in the engine bay. It had 15 written on it.

I replaced it & now I noticing that after I take out my ignition key, I had lights coming on where the A/C buttons are. I could also turn on the A/C. Thuus the A/C was working even though my key is out. In addition, my high speed fan would be running continuously, even with the key out.

Please assist as you see fit, thank you

Default Re: Electrical Issues

The engine bay fuse for radio and clock, [back up] should be a 7.5A , [fuse 47] not a 15A.

I assume the radio is aftermarket, "high power".

My guess is the wiring from fuse 47, [12V constant] has shorted to other leads, [ign. leads] when, "My music system had a wire touching the inside of car causing a fuse to blow" the 15A fuse being more then twice what the wiring was rated for so when the short happened the wiring got hot and shorted before the fuse went.

Remember the fuses are there to protect the wiring, replacing a fuse with a bigger one can cause severe damage to the wiring harnesses.

Although the above may not be your problem, but it is the first thing I would check for.
Pull the fuse, does the A/C and "high speed" fan still work with key out of ign.? 94

PS. If it is an aftermarket HU, rewire the HUs 12V constant, [yellow] the stock 12V constant, [fuse 47] can not supply the current needed by the HU, [even if the 7.5A fuse is replaced with a 15A fuse] run a fused 12ga lead from the batt. to behind the HU and connect the HUs 12V constant, [yellow] to it, [like you would wire an amps power], don't forget to cap off the, now unused, stock 12V constant and once wiring is repaired, [if that is your problem] replace the fuse with the proper 7.5A fuse.

My friend is in agreement with you with the wiring from fuse 47, [12V constant] has shorted to other leads, [ign. leads] He has the car now & is trying to see where exactly the problem is & I'll check back with him later to see the results.
