Well i used to have a type R ecu in my car and no check engine light. when i put the gsr ecu in the check engine light came on and i dont know how to make it go away. I need to smog it by FRIDAY! and i really need to know what to do. Heres what the people at the shop told me

"we need to find your oem harness so we can figure out what the problem is. The thing is when we look for it we cannot find it."

they tried resetting it but after a couple of seconds it came back on. any advice or anything would be nice. thanks in advance

ohh btw some guy told me that if i unplug the battery for a while and plug it back in it'll reset and the check light will go away. is that true?

 

I would try to reset the ecu 1st thing to see if that does take care of the light. it has for me before. unplug battery for 30 seconds or so or even leave it unplugged for a few min then plug it back up and see if your light comes back

also do you know what code you areh throwing

 

nah i dont know what code. its a chipped ecu but i dont see why the engine light would turn on... they couldn't find the oem harness to find out the codes =\. and we also tried resetting the ecu. it just came back on after a couple of seconds.

 

sad no one else has ideas or anything that can help?
