Default door help

hey everyone. someone tried to break into my driver's door and they ended up messing up the the lock part from inside the door. not the electric open and close power switch. the inside lock that connects to the metal bar on the car. now i cant open from out side or inside. i manage to take my door panel off and i looked at it. everything seems to be fine and working except for the actualaters. i think thats what's called. itss the peice that locks the door with the metal bar. well is there a way i can get this fixed? please help me

if you take the door panel off you should be able to open it from the inside. if you don't know how things look when its working properly, take the passenger side panel off and watch the latch open.

i compared it to the passenger side and when you push the lock button open it pushes up a metal piece inside the actualaters. my driver side door wouldnt go out. the only way i opened the door was use a flat head screw driver and push the piece up
