Default dont do this

over the weekend i made the mistake of losing a screw when i was adjusting my valves. It was one of those spark plug wire guide screws. Anyway, if you ever lose a screw, make sure you find it. Mine unfortunately ended up in the timing belt.

This screw had one hell of an appetite, cuz it decided to eat the whole thing.

Fortunately, i caught it before the belt ripped. I could've founmd a better use of that $50 though.

i'll add this to the list of stupid things i've done to my gs-r.

Heh, how about this?
My Jeep has this Coolant Low reminder.
So what do I do? I add coolant/antifreeze to my resivour. That's it. no problem right? WRONG. where's the 50/50 mix?!?!?! I totally forgot that you are supposed to mix it with distilled water.
I was wondering why my therm was only showing 120 degrees in 100 degree weather. opps.

A while back, my cigerette lighter was lose somehow and my radar detector would shut off and come back on if I even drove near a crack in the raod. It was pissing me off pretty bad, so I was like, hey when my blinker bulbs would not stay in very well, I just took a screw driver and pulled the prongs out a little more and all was better. Same thing right, wrong! Never stick a screw driver into you cigerette lighter with the ignition on (even if you do want to listen to the radio). When I went to replace the fuse, I pulled one that was for my starter or something because I thought that it was an extra fuse because I lost that little plastic fuse map. I then thought that my Jacobs electronics stuff was messed up and took off my whole bumper to see what the deal was. What a waste of a day.

I thought I was the only one that happened to. My did not melt. I took a 10 mile drive down the freeway, got off and smelled antifreeze. Then though, oh f@ck, I forgot to put it back. Luckily it did not melt. It was very hot though.

And then there was the time a dime fell into my cigarette lighter. When I would drive my radio fuse would blow, in a mustang. After a box of fuses, pulling out and reinstalling my head unit and several days I finally found the problem. More interesting, I had laughed at a friend a week before hand that had the same problem.

I too lost a screw and it ended up in the timing belt. Although, it was not noticeable for like a week when it started to get real loud like valves were tapping the pistons. So, after saving all of the money by doing the timing belt and water pump myself, i towed it to the dealer to diagnose the problem and I got to pay them for a new belt install anyway. (And a new valve cover screw)
