Wouldn't save you much. The hatch on the teg is only like 10% metal. The real weight is the glass. You'd have to get one of those alternative rear windscreens to see a weight savings.

i've thought about a lexan rear window, tinted to match the rest of the car. i got a price of about $275 shipped for the lexan, scratch-resistant. any idea how much weight this would save? $275 ain't bad, but if it's 20lbs lighter like a carbon hood, i'll save and get lightweight seats.

either that chassis weight thread is wrong, or the scale I weighed my car on a couple weeks ago was wrong. Cause I weighed in at about 2500 with everything but spare and jack.

im so sick off people saying cf hoods, or any weight reduction, doesnt make a difference....My car is gutted to the max (whichis closer to 15o, not 100), putting down 163 whp and I **** on alot of people that i shouldnt be pissing on. why ? simple: weight reduction. someons posted, stripping 100 lbs off of your car is equivilant of adding close to 15hp at the wheels.

Free hp ? I'll take it. F*ck the interior.

actually the whole purpose of a carbon fiber hood is to take weight of the front of the car to reduce understeering in autoxing, i cant member where i read it but thats what it said i have a cf hood on my teg with a jdm front end and get this is was 100 dollars cheaper to get the vis cf hood versus the oem one. plus my car is balck so it looks nice.

Yes, this is why I have no backseat in my DA, 1)I can only give one person a ride. 2)My car isn;t weighed down by my buddies.

Yes, thats what I shop told me because I asked them to weigh it without the glass when they took the glass off the stock hatch.

could be plus or minus 1-2 lbs for margin of error

i got in a t-bone accident a few months back... my front bumber was gone (busted really bad) and my cf hood only had a few scratches. also the fram in the front bent. i thinik cf is actually pretty strong.

I bought mine for the bling . If you want weight reduction, buy a lightweight battery instead. You'll save more money and save more pounds

CF hood do make difference.
yea yea i know is mainly for show, and it will save some lbs as well.. but it will also help to transfer the weight from top to bottom end, thus it will increase the handling of the car too.

save weight, look good, no fear of denting, extra hp. Dude i'm all down for that. If i could I would get the hood and the hatch. That hatch is super pimp. You save weight, look good, and it's a quick fix to shaving emblems
