Default DIY: JDM Visor install

Ok so I got the JDM visors and didnt have instructions so someone here scanned in the japanese instructions. I was going to have my Japanese co-worker translate it but I figured it out over the weekend.

I will now tell you you DO have to cut the rubber window guide. but you only need to make one cut.

Here is how you do it.

Check your parts with this page (dont worry about the japanese you dont need to read it. jsut check the aprts count. (note that this pic shows both left and right side. so parts #6 is for the passenger side & #7 is for the driver side.

Next place the visor on the window. line up the forward edge to the mirror. and look thru the visor to where the brackets are. use a pen and mark where the center of the hole would line up on the window trim. there should be 5 holes. 4 on top and 1 at the rear edge

Now start peeling back the top part of the window trim look at the pictures. a flat head screw driver may help.

This is all you need to pull out. no more

Use the little piece of cardboard where you marked the rear edge hole.
And mark where the arrow points.

next use piece #3. Place the piece over where the mark you just made. and place that in the middle. mark the edges. (you want to make a vertical line on that mark

cut that line you made and Push the piece thru the slit. peel back the back side of the side trim to help you push it thru.

Use the two brackets #5 and piece #4. place #5 where you maked the holes. they are the two middle marks. Place it in the metal part of the window. look carefully at the pictures. the bottom pics are a cross section of the window. and use piece #4 to hold it in place. look at the cross section picture.

next take piece 6 or 7 (depending which side you are using they will say Cr or CL for left or right) place that in the window. this will go at the most forward mark. and piece #8 goes where the most rear mark is.

(now my doors only had one hole in the rear. this is at the top so you need to look under the metal part for the hole. to save you time and trouble not only is there one hole but the screw they provide is too short. so you do NOT NEED the screws. once you place them you can pop the rubber back in place to hold it. )

Push the rubber guide back in start with the top going in first then push the bottom in. again a screw driver will help.

once the rubber guide is back in place screw in your visor and you are done.

Next use the plastic push pin to hold the rear side into the bracket.

and you are done!!!!

here is the final product

i didnt cut that hole where the "integra" word is and it still works fine, but the install was easy dont know why people make it out to be so difficult. did you drill that last hole near the mirror?

Nah too lazy. Plus after I did the two middle ones I figured out that the rubber guide thing will hold it in place.

Yeah I know it wasnt that hard. I know some japanese but actually didnt have to read anything. the pictures were actually very self explanatory. I had to analyze those cross sections for a little bit though.

i did mine a little different. but it's hangin in there. hahaha. it's easy once u get the first side done. kinda frustrating if u don't have the common sense to work the lining back smooth. i didn't drill any holes and didn't do that last hole by the integra word either.

You don't actually have to cut those cubes of weatherstripping out. I just sliced it with a razerblade and fed the bracket through.

Anyone else notice that the threaded hole at the front of the doors doesn't exist?
