distributor problems and o2 sensor problems?

distributor problems and o2 sensor problems?
Putting a universal o2 sensor on my car and I cut of the small harness for the oem one, now it is just hard wired. Is it working correctly, or is it not grounded and not doing a thing. Cant pass emissions.
