Difference between 4x100 and 4x114.3?
A x B
'A' refers to the number of bolts and 'B' refers to what? The length of the bolts???
Why would someone pick 4x100 or 4x114.3 over the other? Does the offset influence any of these?
TIA.
Btw, does this belong in the newbie forum?

It's actually the diameter of a circle drawn through all the bolts (you can't measure diagonal distance on 5-lug hubs, it's a circle drawn through the bolts). 4x114.3 (4x4.5") has a larger circle than 4x100.

its the diameter of a circle around the centers of all 4 bolts... you would pick 4 x 100 or 4 x 114.3 or whateever depending on what kind of car you have unless you change the hub and bolt pattern or sumthing.. haha so its pretty much static... the offset doesnt influence the bolt pattern or vice versa.. the offset is how much off center (either + or -) from the center of the rim and the hub...
civics and integras are 4 x 100
and the older accords and preludes that had 4 lugs are 4 x 114.3
