30 or 55 HP depending on whether the DC2 is a GSR or ITR. DC4 is the chassis code for an RS, LS, GS coupes. DC2 is the chassis code for the GSR and ITR coupes.

Well my 94 ls had the vin code dc4 but my buddies 94 ls came with the vin code dc2 they are the same except that mine has an automatic trans. and his was a 5 speed. So im still lost as to what the difference is.

there's two possible reasons

1. you can't tell the difference between an ls motor and a gsr/itr motor

2. your buddy got screwed over on the purchase of his car.

If they are calling it an LS, then I take it they know it is an LS, if could have just been a swapped dash for color change, cracked dash, or whatever. Or they don't know the dif. in motors like already said.

Most differences are options i.e. leather, spoiler, things of that nature. The main chassis differences occur only in the type r.
