Default DC or Comptech?

I figure with my mods it's about time for a header, but which, DC or the Comptech SS? Either way I am going 4-2-1....I see that alot of people on here reccomend the Comptech, but why?

I am also considering the JDM 4-1

the primary runners start out small than gets bigger as the pipe goes to the down pipe. the dc have a single size primary all the way to the cat. Thats my .02

the only thing i can about the comptech and DC is that it bolts on to ur stock cat.
performance will be minimal.
get the JDM 4-1 and car sound hi flow cat (it will bolt up to ur stock exhaust which is a no no) or some bigger diameter exhaust.

u wont be sorry if u did.

I also have DC 4-1 and like them very much. But I have also heard good things about the JDM and comptech. But the JDM has a 2.5 in. collecter.

With a GSR I'd do a JDM or USDM DC SS 4-1. Now if you had a B16A(99-00 Si) I'd go with a Comptech 4-2-1

I think I can put some input into this topic. First read this thread from hondalife.com Damn good and you'll love the headers you'll see in there. http://www.hondalife.com/articles/bseriesheader.htm Second, take a look at this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=304827. I like the Comptech 4-2-1 header, because it's well built, sponsored by Acura and if you guys don't believe a 4-2-1 gives you some top end power well I feel it with the mods I've done to date, i.e. i/h/e.

the comptech's stepped design prevents exhaust reversion, i.e. exhaust gasses making their way back into the cylinders....

w/ a DC Sports ceramic 4-1 header, I knocked off a half second off my quarter mile time (w/ a AEM CAI, and greddy SP exhaust) on my b18b

no way in hell comtech is made by dc they use different materials and have a better design. also a lil off topic but the dc headers have not been redesigned sinc the 1.7 and 1.6 b-series engines came out. meaning they are using a smaller interior diameter tubeset for cars that have 1.8 liter bseries engines as well.

not to mention that i've heard stories of ppl's DC headers cracking and rusting out

if you plan to get a DC ss 4-2-1, spend the extra 20 bucks and get a far superior header in the comptech 4-2-1 mig.

i love mine

I would go comptech. DC is still a great header, it's just that comptech is superior in design, and durability.

I heard you are really smart.
Well since we know that isnt true, then dont believe things you just "hear"

the 421 dc will make less mid and top power vs the comptech, but the dc 4-1 header will make a lot of power throughout the range. more power than the 421 designs

If I were you, I would save up your cash and get the smsp or hytech header. espicially if you are going to be adding cams down the line
