DA Power Door Lock Conversion
I know this may sound stupid, but is there a way to convert the door locks to power? I am kinda used to setting them every time I get out of the car, but my passengers always seem to forget and I don't always double check.
The reason I'm asking is I recently bought an alarm, and I thought it'd be nice to have power door locks w/ all of the cool features. Car is a '93 LS-S, so your input would be appreciated. I searched under power, door, and lock, and found nothing. TIA.

Yes, I just did it to mine. Not too hard. Need to install actuator in the door and the run wires to the head unit. Some alarms need a relay to send 12V to the actuators, some do not. Takes a while to run the wires thru the rubber door jamb boot.

Damn I hope that isn't the same boot I was trying to run speaker wire through, because there was absolutely no room. So all I need is an actuator? I'm guessing that's a junkyard item. Also, do you have any pics? I really have no clue how to do this so a little more detail would be appreciated.

Bump.
Do you guys think that if I get the actuators and give them to a shop along w/ the alarm they will install that as well. Anybody reccomend a place in LV to have it done?

ebay has em for 1.99
they work fine
my bro and i both have ebay kit and its working flawlessly :.
installing the acutaltor is easy the hardest part is wiring through the stock door loom~
you will also need to wire using relays or buy a kit that has a built in relay

I really dont know what shops will install or not. You MAY need a relay along with the actuators. the actuators I got were from Best Buy that they use in their installs. $15/pc. They can be as much as $25/pc or as low as $3/pc on ebay and electronics websites.
the actuator is on the far left in that hole in the door panel.

Alright, thanks for all the info, hopefully I'll take a crack at this soon. I'll update w/ pics if I can.
Hey do you guys think I need to put in a switch for the power door locks, or just leave it for the button of the alarm? I was thinking that as long as I'm out of the car, I'd either use the button or my key, and if I'm inside then I don't need the button. It was just a thought.

Ok, now the shop is done, and I still don't have power door locks. Apparently the door lock actuators weren't strong enough for my old *** car, and since the door locks were so hard to move, the actuators wouldn't fully unlock and lock the doors. Now I guess they are ordering me new ones, and I will get some extra alarm features for free as well. It actually turned into a pretty good deal. Thanks again for all the help, and I found out, it's not that hard to do at all.
My bad, these were ones from the shop so I have no idea what kind they were. My door locks are kinda tough to mess with though, so I guess that's why. The shop said $65 a door for parts and labor, and that made it their responsibility to get me better actuators.
