ctr piston work in b18b?
searched and havent found the answer.
will ctr pistons work in a b18b? i am aware that 1mm has to be shaved off the rods on each side to fit the piston onto the rod, but will this combo work with the b18 head? are there differences in valve spacing - would i have to modify the valve reliefs? reason is i want to put a vtec head on at a later date and would prefer to build the block while the b18b is out of the car.

i've heard there are clearance probs w/B16B pistons and B16A heads.. somethin about the size of the dome on the CTR.. this is assuming ur using the B16 head for your ls/vtec... by the way, u do mean boring out 1mm on the cylinders not the rods, right? just confused me a sec
You can use them, but it will require head work. The CTR piston will protrude above the deck, so the chambers will have to be opened up to avoid piston to head contact. Valve clr could be another problem, but the only way to know for sure is to check with clay or check springs. It should be ok given the intake valve reliefs are 2mm bigger than your stock valves on any Vtec pistons, but always double check. Pretty much drop in and go with ITR slugs if your going the cast route. For forged pieces, Endyn
