crower cams?
Want to get some new cams for my GSR, but was wondering if it would be worth it because there is no local dyno to tune. But what do you think of the 63403 with springs and retainers.. Would it just be better to get a reprogramed ECU or a VAFC? since there is no dyno the ecu would probably be a better idea but which company? and what kind of horsepower is to be accpected?
Well if your not going to tune your setup then you dont need the VAFC. You could have you ecu reprogrammed, some shops out there if you tell them what you have they will program it from your setup. I find it hard to beleive that you dont have a local dyno. Even if you have to drive a for a cupple hours to get one it would be well worth it. If you do get the cams and find a place to tune it make sure you get a FPR, Cam Gears, and a VAFC. On a stock GSR the cams supposovly made like 22WHP or somthing.
u didnt mention if u were buying these new or used... the reason i say is because the old crower cams had problems... i dont know exactly what... but as far as i have heard... they fixed it and the new cams are great!
My 63403's peaked at 8900. I dynoed at 176hp and 121tq. I like them a lot. Also when I dynoed I was running stock cat, 28" resonator and a muffler.
I am using a mugen N1 ecu. vtec was at 6k

The "old" problem with the crower cams was that they had a tendency to break into pieces while in the valvetrain, and consequently destroy the whole cylinder head. I don't know if they really fixed the problem though.
