I picked up a 99 integra GS-R a few years ago and until recently has given me nothing but issues... Now than im getting back around to fixing it again, first thing on the list os the dumb a$$ camber it has. 3.5 deg on the front and 4.56 deg on the rear. The rear has the camber adjustments already installed but they are pulled all the way in for the tires to clear the fender. Im thinking it has a set of 8.5 or 9 inch wide wheels on it, seeing how the 215/45r16s are stretched some. the front has even less clearance and have to run a 215/40r16 (on tire rubs the fender at any more than half way to lock)
also, this car as a 5 lug swap on it
Basically the car was lowered way too far on some cheap skunk 2 springs for those wheels. i will be replacing the shocks and springs (probability with progress coilovers) at some point, but it seems cheaper for the time being to put the correct wheels on it as im planning on replacing both front fenders and the bumper (bumper is torn, one fender is rusted, and the other has had a tire rub it for who knows how long).
basically, i need to know what wheel diameter and offset will work best. here's how she sets now...
I ran 16s with 50 r tires on my car for a little while. Personally I hated the ride. 15s with a 55 r tire will be much more comfortable. 15x6.5 with 35mm works I know that. 16x7 with 35mm offset works. Hell I think you can even go as far as 16x7.5 or 8! Your problem will be hitting the inside of the rim on the tie rods at a full turn.
Any diameter with a 7" width and about a 35 to 40 offset will work fine unless you want 0 camber and the car is lowered.
Tire "series" only means anything if it is related to a width. A "50 series" means that the sidewall is 50% of the width.
A 205/50 is shorter than a 265/50, for example. You can't talk about tires in sidewall sizing without mentioning width.
Just like wheel offset and width need to be said together for either to mean something.
16 x 7 +40 with a 215/45/16 is around the same overall diameter as stock. A 205/45/16 is close....but a little short. That size seems more popular for whatever reason.
yes, mine has a 5 lug conversion, so i looked up a 2000 type-r, and those are one of the wheels that came up, just wanted to see if you think i could get close to 1deg of camber with the 205/40r16 on the front and 205/45r16 on the rear
Should be fine. I'd leave the camber alone. Just fix the toe. Otherwise, you'll need camber kits and a "special" alignment.
Why are you using taller rear tires? Why use 205/40/16 at all? Do you just have them laying around? Again, I would recommend either 215/45/16....OR 205/45/16.
FWIW, My ITR has 15X7 + 40 with 205/50/15. I never rub. I lowered it about 0.75" from stock ITR height. So that would be like lowering a regular integra about 1.5 to 1.75".
You should always mention the mods you have on the car when asking a question. The Type R has hubs that are 5mm further outboard than 4 lug civic/tegs. So for a type R, 7" wide wheels of +45 to about +40 offsets will work. +35 may be a bit tight.

In my original post, I did day that it has a 5 lug swap.
The car came with 205/40r16 all the way around. I had to replace the rears before the fronts when I got it, so I put the right side on the rear. When it came time to throw fronts on it I realized the clearance wouldn't allow for the 45 profile (I can't even get a finger between the tire and the fender)
And as far as the alignment, the rears have the camber kit already installed by the last guy... And they are adjusted all the way in. I don't mind buying ones fornthe front, and I work at a shop so I have access to an alignment rack and can do that myself
