Default Is this the correct part?

Could anyone tell me if this is the correct timing belt guide for my 98 Integra LS? I replaced my timing belt and water pump over the weekend, but as I was installing everything back together I noticed that the crank never had a timing belt guide on it. I picked one up at the dealership, but I don’t think it is the correct one. Isn’t the timing belt guide supposed to have a notch for the crankshaft key? The guide that I got from the dealership didn’t have a notch, but this is the correct part # based on their database and from what I could pull on www.hondapartsunlimited.com. Anyone have a picture or the part # of the TB guide that should fit my car?

you need one of those on either side. does the other side have one? maybe the one on the other side has the notch? if worse comes to worse, bust out the dremel and notch it yourself!

there is no notch in that part. the notch is in the crank pulley and the key fits flush inside the pulley only when installed. you got the right stuff.

Duh on me! that's right. you install the timing sprocket with the key. that just sits on the outer part of the crankshaft protrusion (like a washer)

Thanks for the replies guys! Whoever worked on this car before did a half-*** job! Exhaust cam was off by 2 teeth when I took off the valve cover. Timing was advanced to the max! And they never reinstalled the timing belt guides, which caused my TB cover to get all ripped up!

Okay so it looks like I need to buy another TB guide cuz that’s also missing. So to clear this up, the crankshaft key is placed in the keyway inside the timing belt sprocket OR does it go into the keyway inside the crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer?

put the key back where you found it between the crank and the crank pulley. without it, the pulley would spin freely on its own.

wish I had old parts to compare the new one to, but whoever changed the timing belt last time didn't install all the parts back.
