The car feels like its running on 2 cylinders when you turn on the a/c. You lose a lot of power.

Thanks for all the replies, at least now I know what to expect out of the Integra when I get one. Regardless of all the negative aspects, I still plan on picking one up.

One last thing however, would you all recommend getting a GSR over an LS if I intend to boost it for moderate power (around 230-250whp)? Reason I ask is because finding a 95 GSR is almost next to impossible to find whereas LS are more common and a bit less expensive. And the reason why I am specifically looking for a 95 is because I want to be OBD1 to use Uberdata for when I boost and not worry about converting if I had an OBD2 car. I know both motors are great for boost as well.

Thanks for all the kind responses and I look forward to hanging around the Integra forum in the near future.

If you can afford it, go with a GSR, as the head is ******* beast. Otherwise just go with an LS. Cant really go wrong on either one.

Cons about Integras:

Always something getting jacked if your car didnt get jacked yet
Windows are freaking slow
go karts have more torque
radiator always ***** up
plastic **** in the middle of the rear seats
older control arm bolts get rusted so its a bitch to lower
wheel inner fender (that black ****) always gets fucked up and its $70 to replace
UNDERSTEER (especially for LS)
integras are more expensive Civics
steering wheel console is too low and i always bump my freaking knee on it
cup holders too small and when i put a cup in there with a stock radio, whenever i hit a bump the song changes or the radio turns off(because of the position of the radio and cd player switches)
Airbags did not work properly when I crashed my GSR
Too much money on little, minor things
rear bumper is a bitch to take off
RSX should have been called an integra

Pros:
Integras kick ***
Vtec(esp for type R) is better than any turbo
reliable as hell
good gas mileage
cheap car -> built sturdy
easy to manipulate, modify, or fix
GOOD daily driver
reason why ppl jack integra **** is because its parts fit on almost any car
good front seats
nice moonroof
ash tray is good for change box
headlights are bright as hell
high end power
good handling (except for stock LS)
smooth gearbox
perfect gear ratios (especially for type r)
not too bad in rain
good sound (for stock)
gauges look nice and simple
dash looks nice and simple (and can be modified to fit in a civic)
lot of trunk room
holds it value
good while it lasts (approx.250-400kmiles if properly taken care of)
car does not overheat like turbo cars do
loud intake whistle
vtec owns you

well, if you like your civic, then you will most likely love the integra.

Pros: Huge aftermarket, tight handleing, good top end power, better gearing than all the civics ive rode in (only reving to around 3500 at 80 mph), stock seats are well bolstered

Cons: victim to the notorious honda rear quarter panel rusting, road noise, useless cup holders in my G3!

Two suggestions, get a GSR or drop in a GSR motor in your civic.

with the cost of gas as high as it is, i'd get an LS and run 87 octane.

abs sucks and is pretty useless to me
i hate the famous rust on rear fenderwel on the integras
head lights kinda suck
windows rattle at certain height
weaksauce synchrons in transmission is a P.O.S.
thieves are always eyeing out for B series motors/integras
feels like a PIG compared to my 94 SI hatch

other than that, i love my teg. i feel at home right inside with my dvd/tv/mp3/vcd indash and EVO8 Recaro seats. i'm not complaining about torque cause i'm turbo'd and i can pretty much kick a majority of other cars' ***.

i agree with most of the post here
here's my add-ons from a New Yorker point of view
1. no shock & spring system will ever make you happy against a NYC pothole
2. anything over stock rims & tires will require you to slow down to avoid a flat
3. NYC roads CAUSE window rattle, bad shocks, and angry idiots that rev up next to you at red lights
4. Have you ever tried to drive a teg gsr or ls in Manhattan traffic other than after 1am? aggravating
5. Every idiot in NYC wants or has an SUV now with aftermarket HID's so even at stock height at night you're getting BLINDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

other than those issues I love my GSR and I also love the fact that prices are slowly but surely dropping on certain aftermarket parts for them

post ***** get out of here

if you're not on a tight budget then id go with the gsr. i love mine to death. if you want to be cheap then just get an LS and then use whats left to piece together a descent turbo kit

Cons -
* Insurance, Insurance, Insurance, $$$, $$$, $$$. 2004 BMW M3 ins. was cheaper for me (this is TRUE).
* Never happened to me (knock on wood) but theives love the damned thing (read: Insurance) >>> You have to own at least two locking devices and use them all the time. Even at 7-11.
* Rattling. This is my fault though, I used Armor-All on my dash and stuff. Big mistake. The airbag squeaks like mad now.
* The radiator will go on you. You might as well just buy one now.
* Center wheel caps on my 97 GS/-R rims pop out, I've lost two already. $19 bucks the first time (1998), $32 the second time (2002).
* Cheap leather if you get leather. Without perforation your back will get soaked on a hot day (or sometimes on a cold day).
* Cupholders SUCK. Designed only to hold "medium-sized" fast food fountain sodas well and thats it. Sometimes removing the drink from the cupholder wil pop tops off of cups, leading to a possible mess. Starbucks is ok w/o insulating sleeve.
* Plastic dish/5th-seat in the back is dumb but isn't really a big deal cuz I can barely move with 4 adults in the car, 5 would probably kill the engine.
* Rear bumper seems to attract dirt. I've washed my car in the morning and 2 hours later the bumper is dirty after a trip to the supermarket.
* It is a dent magnet.
* Paint is thin.

PROS -
* Gas Mileage rocks!
* Reliable little bugger took alot of abuse in college and it still performs great.
* Just when you think you love your car's drivability, the stock XGT V4s get replaced and it is like a whole new world of handling.
* Flip the rear seats down and you can transport a dorm room.

Damn I love my teg. I am gonna drive it til it rusts/falls apart. I am NEVER selling mine.

the only problem i had with my old 95 integra was the headlights were dim as ****, thats wut got my car into an accident and it got totalled, hit a tree. other than that i kinda get irritated with the slow windows but i know it can be fixed, plus if you got leather interior which i have in my gsr now, it gets hott if left in the sun(i hate it wen i get in after school). stock height is a little too high, but you can fix that easily, and it is stubborn on hott days. i get worried everytime i go to the mall. another thing is too many people have them. its hard to make your teg differnet frmo everyone elses if you wanted it too. after 1995, they changed to OBD2 which i heard doesnt respond to bolt ons as well as OBD1(94-95). thats all i can think of, but all cars have their cars, but integras are just soo damn sexy.

You must be sipping on some engine coolant for you to say this. My old turbo LS did donuts around Vtec cars.

agreed and agreed. it's basically the Integra poor man's wannabe sports car for the conservative minded. with the economy and fuel prices like they are, i'm sure glad to have my reliable, gas sipping honda that still manages to flex a smile across my face when i open her up on back roads.

only con in my book is FWD, but is kind of cramped for tall people (I am 6'6" and had to get a sparco seat) Very reliable so far even with boost and 185,000 miles

Hmm, I was kinda wondering on reliable issues on high mileage LS motors for boost, but now that you mentioned it, I'll go with it.

posting useless information is post whoring. if someone is even slightly interested in an teg im sure they know it is FWD. so not being AWD would not be a problem. also, being awd creates problems like robbing power and just having more **** to break. have fun with your 227hp wrx with ~160hp to the wheels. and then learning how to launch an awd car takes skill and lots of practice. get the **** off honda-tech if you dont like anything but AWD
also, people saying that paint is thin, cupholders too small, bad radio location, etc... are helpful cuz they are things this guy probably didnt know so shut the **** up and dont call me a noob cuz my posts actually have meaning and are useful
