I don't agree on all of the things above but most.... but I also don't regret a thing about my purchase. I had a secong gen teg and now I've had my 3rd gen about 2 months. I love the car. I've had to do alot of cosmetics since I've got it but I love the reward...Clean car that's decent on gas, looks good, and decent power to at least keep up with most cars. 's up on Integras...

Ricer image.
Too many intergras and civics around here(and 99% of the cities in the whole continent) that are just RICED OUT! Sometimes, it's embarrassing when you get caught in a "pack" of ric...I mean "racers" trying to be all fast & furious on the streets. It makes me want to stop everyone on the road and tell them that I'm not a part of that "jackass squad."

Also, about the slow-window roll-up problem--just lube up the tracks with silicone grease. It solved the problem for me.

99% of the complaints in here are nono exsistant with my car... i dunno i dont have any leaks, im 6'3" 220lbs and i fit fine, its real comfortable for me, windows are fine , no rattles ever, a/c worked great till i took it out. cars been real dependable, nothing that was 100 percent OEM has ever broken.

its a damn sexy car too, the 98+ with the OEM body kit (what i have) looks just as good if not better than most any other sport compact on the road in my opinion.

cup holders are only good for 12 oz cans and the small BK cup. leather seats are REAL hot when they are black but thats the nature of leather nothing against the car.... interior is an opinion thing, i love the interior of the car, its very simple yet good looking (mines black leather). doesnt look cheap or flashy like alot of other cars. sound system was ok for a stock system... dont expect awsome sound out of it though at any form of loud volume.

bascially its a great combination if you want a car that you can modify in ANY way you want, that comes with a good motor (b series) to start with, and is a nice good looking comfy daily. granted if i wanted all out performance id go with a hatch to start but i wanted something that was nicer than my last civic del sol.

if i was to do it again i wouldnt want to spend as much as i did initially because modding them gets expensive. performance wise they need alot of work, at least a neon srt4 or a WRX start life fairly fast...

the 4dr interior is actually bigger than a lot of other sports car interiors. Bigger than the S4, Accord and many others. I'm 6''0 and have no height issues. But yeah, I'd say the worst thing is that anyone will steal it. Btw, my windows go up fine.

I had that problem three years ago. I still have no idea where the water was coming in. I just drilled a 1/4" hole under the spare. All of the water drains out and there has still been no rust around the hole.

the low end leaves much to be desired, and the interior is squeaky, especially when it's humid outside (of course, some of that is due to higher spring rates). when cornering at 9/10ths, you can feel the body of the car flex... this can be resolved with different bars or a roll cage... the stock bushings don't survive very long with constant aggressive driving, and replacing them is a bitch. getting more than 27 mpg is a rare feat for me. the stock leather seats on a gsr lack side support, so you'll probably have to brace against the console or the door when turning hard. the stock michelins SUCK. but they aren't as bad as the khumos i currently have.

i have no idea how someone who's 6'3" can fit in the car and say its comfortable. i hit my head on the ceiling pretty regularly, and i'm only 6'.

other than that, it's a nice ride. the engine's a great, bullletproof platform from the factory, the brakes rock, the steering is responsive (even more so without power steering). i've had the car since it was new, and been happy with it the whole time.

through four years of nearly constant abuse, this car has been running strong. if yer in the market for an integra, buy one. you'll love it.

I've been driving an integra since 1996.

I've had a 2dr coupe and 4dr sedan.

Cons:

theft. including easy to break into.
insurance
retractable antenna
low mounting radio, but I can live with it since I like the low profile dash.
windows are slow
windows sometimes freezes up in cold weather
hatch rattle
interior road noise
two speed wiper

also, the ricer image.

Most of these are minor interior annoyances that can be fixed easily though.
Mechanically, the car is great. I have no issues with that. That's actually the reason I bought another one.

All of the of the problems listed i find to. Except theft. You guys on the coasts sure your cars jacked a lot. Nobody steals cars in wisconsin.

I think the radio postition is good too. I can control it and still have my hand on the shifter.

the torque is good i think, but every ******* focus, accord, or ricer will rev at you... interior is a bit small and the dash rattles along w/ the rest of the car, windows fog up real easy if it has been raining alot (like in seattle) but i still love her to death ..........

best advice you can take right here:

if you really like the teg that's fine, but save the $$$ for an RSX

I certainly wish i wouldve. Ive been experiencing too many agravating probs with my teg.

I just bought my 98 integra, and when I looked in the back there was a swimming pool in there.

I demanded taht the dealership fix it, and they did. They figured out that the seal around the tail light was broken, and they had to replace it, so they did.

I have solved the cupholder problem for any cup up to 44 ounces. This may sound like it doesn't work, but i have been doing it for years now and my cousin (also a teg owner) loves me for it. There is a hidden cup holder built into our car.

If you are over 5'10", then you must lean your seat back...This leaves room for a soda cup to be placed between your right hip and the center console. It will be held there by the seat belt while you are driving. This works amazingly.

Try it and let me know what you guys think.

ps. i have never had a lid pop off and soak my pants...been doing it for atleast 4 years
