Default Comptech vs. Injen CAI

Before you flame me i did a search and couldn't find anyone comparing the Injen CAI vs. the Comptech Icebox directly with good experience/research. I know the Icebox is supposed to be safe from Hydrolocking, and looks stock, but you have to get your own filter and intake arm right? Injen i heard makes really quality stuff and they have the 2 piece CAI which i can remove when the rain season comes and just run a short ram. Does either one offer a significant HP Gain over the other? I plan on ordering one soon, hoping you guys could give me some suggestions.

You wouldn't feel the difference between AEM, Injen, or comptech.

Your not going to find much of a difference between any intakes. CAI has been dyno proven to give you a famous "hump" (AEM) around 4000-5000rpms. Thats where the advantage has been proven. But other then that the short ram and cold air intakes are basically exactly the same. There is very minor differences with brands and your going to find that most of your difference is just from having a shitty filter (get a K & N filter). Im beginning to look into the 2 piece setup because the rain is getting bad up here and I am sick of being paranoid all the time. When you hydrolock you have basically got to submerge the filter though. Its something that can easily happen if your not careful but something that is also easy to prevent. Goodluck with your search. Both intakes are very good

thanks, i think i might end up going with the injen, just because i do want the 2 piece design during rain just in case, its not like i'm going to be needing the colder air in the rain anyways. Do you guys know of good online stores to pick up the injen intakes?

would a 1 piece Injen Race Division be better than the 2 piece? Their about the same price, give or take a few bucks. If not i'll just get the 2 piece for the adjustability.

I had the injen 2 piece and after a couple of months there was a huge hole in the metal near the filter. I would go with the comptech.

Intake wise im using the Injen 1 piece CAI. I too am wondering if I should switch to a 2 piece due to the fact that I'm up here in the NW where it rains a lot...

The Injen works great.
