Comptech Icebox???
I have never seen an Icebox on a car, but from pics that I see it looks like a stock airbox with slightly larger and longer tubing that goes down and behind the bumper. Regardless of how much air can get up that tube and into the box, isnt the closed BOX concept itself restricting airflow into the filter??? I just think that an open filter would have a stronger intake charge.. ICEBOX OWNERS please convince me that the icebox is worth its pricetag. Also, with an icebox, can you even hear your intake or is it quiet like stock? Last question.. whats so special about the comptech filter that makes it a MUST BUY in order to use the icebox? Cant i find a slim cone shaped K&N to fit inside the icebox?? Thanks!
First off just buy the Icebox, you will ont regret it one bit. Today it rained over 2" near me and I was going through some DEEP unavoidable puddles and I had no problems.
As far as looks go. I pop my hood all the time and people get mad because they think its stock
Sound: I love the sound. It is no where near as loud and annoying as the AEM. It sounds a lot like stock but its just deeper and more aggressive sounding

I would have to agree with you. It seems to me that an intake box with a larger volume, and bigger pipe to the front air dam would be better for performance. That's the first thing I noticed about the Ice box... box looked a tad too small.
