Default compression test planning to add supercharger

I just check my compression on a 1997 GSR with 108k

warmed up and open throttle

1 - 195
2 - 190
3 - 190
4 - 190

Am I safe to add a supercharger?

I did add a teaspoon of oil and got

1 - 240
2 - 240
3 - 220
4 - 220

What does is mean when I get higher numbers with oil added in the cylinders?

I was reading it should be about 230ish for GSR

I'm wonder since mine is 190's should I worry also.

Your gonna look for consistancy! your first test looks like your motor is spot on and healthy! and so does the second! if it was like 190 190 190 140! theres a problem with that cylinder!

what kind of supercharger are you looking to use! p.m me iv done allot with the jackson supercharger and im about to install a procharger, p.m me if you need to know anything.

190's sounds like its a little worned out motor since the test was done after warming up, but what you want to see is consistency along all four cylinders, yours looks good when it comes to that

try using some 10w40 motor oil with some lucas and boost that thing !!!!!

Oil Additives= , especially lucas.
Theyre just good with marketing their crap
Just run some really good 10w40 full synthetic.
Has all the detergents and additives and crap to keep ur engine running good and as smooth as possible. Dont break down and lose its lubrication as much as conventional.
AMSoil has to be one of the best.
Theyre also known for marketing alot, but their stuff REALLY is good stuff.

I agree with you 200% but only when it comes to stock or mild allmotor setups, but things change when you start boosting, I know more then a few guys out there adding lucas to turbo, nitrous applications and this motors run with no problems since they have a larger oil cleareance overall in the whole engine
I dont use lucas in my motor........but i would if I couldnt rebuilt my motor and I wanted to add boost, all you need to add is 1/3 of the bottle no more then that

i had the same readings man, my tuner said they were just fine for tuning otherwise he woudlnt have wasted my time on the tune. If you want a real good idea of the motor do a cylinderleakage test on it
