Default compression readings

does anyone know the compression specs for the 3 gen ls teg? or the parameters that it needs to be in? my car burns oil and there is some oil coming from between the head and the block so i have no idea if its a head gasket or just weak pistons...

I think 180 across the board is good.

it doesn't matter as much about the number as it does how far they are apart. if it is below 140 on all cylinders then i would be worried

edit: the number should not deviate 10-15% between the cylinders

well i mean it just burns oil. i know its not valve seals...some people tell me its head gasket cuz you can see oil on the block. i just think the motor is tired...is there a way i can determine this?

compression and leakdown test and clean off the block and watch where it leaks first

Yes.

I'm not 100% on this, but I think the GS-R is like:

max-220psi
minimum 145psi
max variation-28psi between cylinders

It's not perfect, but it's close
