I've seen this a couple times but can't remember what they are supposed to be. Try running a search in the integra forum for compression numbers or checks.

new for LS is 200, so 220 is WOAH. new for GS-R is 300, and your numbers are on the low side of acceptable. 140 minimum, but the really important part is the variance between cylinders. the highest and lowest can't be more than 28psi off, according to honda. but really, if they're more than 12psi or so off, your engine may be a turd.

According to the Helms service manual, for a GSR, the nominal is 213 psi, minimum is 135 psi, and maximum variance is 28psi.

i dont know about 300, but 220 is about right.

btw, did you do this at WOT? some people wont, and the numbers will come out low.

Actually the majority of cars ive seen were around 240 for gsrs. How do you manage to do WOT. You just crank your motor over a few times

yeah 240 too, WOT = wide open throttle, just make sure you have the accel. pedal pushed down all the way when cranking about 5 turns.

mine was 240 all the way across for my 94 gsr, which according to the haynes manual is good. i dunno though, cuz it sounds like people are saying that some manuals have diff specs in them. does anyone know what a honda manual actually says it should be?

i'm talking about from an actual honda/acura service manual, the dealer one. helms is a brand, like chiltons and haynes, they all make manuals for all types of vehicles.

nevermind, i found my factory service manual

my factory manual says:
nominal=270
minimum=140
max variation= 28

my haynes manual says:
nominal=270
minimum=135
max variation= 28

and according to 01BLKGSR, helms says:
nominal=213
minimum=135
max variation= 28

see, thats what i was talking about. the varience in #s btw different manuals!
i think i'll stick with the specs in the factory manual!

My LS was 225psi all across, so I'd think the GSR should be higher than that.

the variance is the difference between the compression in the 4 cylinders. All of them should be within 28psi of each other.
