Common integra problem??? Help!!!
Alright so here's the story, I was coming down the street leaving a friend's house, and I was rolling on second gear, shift to third. And then when i let go off of the clutch and try to gas it, the gas pedal felt empty and my car felt like it down shifted, so I tought i miss shifted and so i decided to put it on second gear n gas it, the gas still felt like it was empty even when i pressed the pedal all the way, the battery light and the oil light on the cluster lit up, so I pulled over thinking that it was the battery. I called my friend, because i tried restarting the car but it still would not start so, I tried using the jumper cable, the car was cranking but seemed like there is no sparks to it. So I called the towing company and luckily the guy owns a shop and he told me that there is probably something wrong with the distributor or the fuel pump. And he said that it's a common problem for integras, and I just want to know if anybody else is having this problem. Because it seemed like the car was working fine and normal, and it just suddenly shuts off for no reason.
well if it cranks but doesn't turn over sounds like its not getting any fuel....try this turn your key to where you would almost crank it and listen for the fuel pump to turn on...if you don't hear anything then that may be the case. I've never had to replace a fuel pump on any of my integras...don't know if it's common
I would start with the least expensive first and go from their. I had a friend though who was driving and his 95 LS and it just slowed down and shut off, so I brought a spare LS distributer I had laying around and replaced his and it started right back up and has been fine ever since. I doubt its a fuel pump ive never heard of a stock pump failing personally. Hope this helps

x2. my gsr did the same thing to me; driving, all of a sudden, slowed down, died etc. I check everything from spark, fuel, battery, alternator, to starter, and still nothing. after being dead for a few days, i found a distributor and slapped it on, started right up. i dont know if its a "common" problem but it does happen.

could also be a relay might wana check that too. same issue my my da. every thought told me it was a fuel pump. upon further investigation it was the relay.

ive had that problem too. you sure it sparks??? cause if it doesnt spark it could be the ignition coil...happened on 2 or 3 occasions...i would go with the small things before you go to the big things...distributors are really expensive..ignition coils are a little pricey...but not as expensive
