Coilover PROBLEM help!!!!!!!!
Hey help me out guys.. I just installed skunkworks coilovers with tokico blue strut all the way around on my 94 DC2. Problem is they ride like CRAP! I purchased them used so I know they will have wear on them.. but they ride worse than if I cut my springs!!!!!!! I dont know why or what to do! I set the coilovers about 1/2 way down so they should ride fine. The only question I have is I cut the bumpstop (which is normal) and also I cut the dust cover on the front struts and removed em on the rears.. Question: Am i supposed to remove the dustcovers completely?? (I cant remember if i did on my last car) I hate driving around bumping my head on the roof of my car!!!!!!! HELP H-T BROS!
The stock one is metal so the shock/spring might be pounding on that when you hit bumps. It is good to have a dust cover but I wouldn't recommend the OEM honda one. Get those rubber\plastic springy things and use that.

Coilovers on Tokico HP blue shocks is probably a big factor if your ride problem right there. Those shocks are basically an OEM replacement shock, maybe 20% stiffer than stock at best. Since coilover springs are usually so short, they have to be extremelly stiff to keep the car from bottoming all the time (although this happens sometimes anyway). The HP shocks aren't up to the task of controlling these stiff springs. If the shocks are used, then that's just making the problem worse. At the very lease I would go with Tokico Illumina white shocks, or Koni Sport yellow shocks if you can afford it. If you can't, I suggest you save up for it and get them eventually. You WILL thank yourself later.

It's the TOCKICO BLUES, I had them on my former car, a 93 Integra with Eibach sportline and they rode LIKE ****! I had to get of them in a less then a week because the ride was so harsh. Unless the spring rates on those coilovers are stiff, which I doubt, I suggest you get rid of those Tokico shocks(struts).
