Default Code 41

I have code 41 and that means OXYGEN SENSOR HEATER...which is different than the oxygen sensor warning...Although when the car gets to operating temp. and i turn the car off and back on and the light goes back off. So does it work fine once it gets to oper. temp? and is this the primary one or the one on the cat? Is it hard to replace? thanks

That probably means since it's still hot, it doesn't try to use the heater.

Two of the 4 wires at the sensor are for the heater. They could be open, or maybe you've blown a fuse for that circuit.

Replacing my O2 Sensor eliminated this problem for me.

http://www.oxygensensors.com is where I picked mine up. The universal sensor is a direct fit, although you will have to do some minimal wiring on your own.

Good luck!

I didnt have an o2 sensor for awhile and when I got one I got a code 41. I just ignore the cel. If anyone knows how to fix it though it would help alot.

Will the sensor still work if heater is broken? Cause light goes off once at operating temp.?

The CEL light goes out, cuz once heated, it won't throw the code again until it cools... BUT the code is still in the ECU's memory.

The sensor works once it heats up to operating temperature, it just takes longer to heat up. If the sensor itself didn't work, it would also throw code 1.

If the heater element built into the O2 sensor is broke, then replacing the O2 sensor will fix it. If the problem is a blown fuse, bad wiring, or something like that, then you gotta find the trouble & fix it. It's just 12v power for the heater.
