clutch problem?
I have a '95 integra gsr, stock motor stock tranny, so its a hydraulic clutch. I know that the clutch is aftermarket, an ACT. When i push the clutch it is really stiff from start to the floor. Also it doesnt disengage until it is pushed ALL the way to the floor. When i bought the car it was like that already and 2nd synchros are out and 3rd arent the greatest so i'm wondering if maybe the clutch is still slipping a little since it doesnt disengage until it hits the floor, how would i fix that, and why is the pedal so stiff? Any input would help as I don't know that much mechanically...yet.
Clutch is probably on its way out. As far as the stiff pedal goes, the previous owner probably had a heavy duty pressure plate put in along with the act clutch. It was probably bought as a clutch kit.
thanks, makes sense about the pressure plate. but if the clutch is about wore out wouldn't it take less distance to disengage, instead of going all the way to the floor with the pedal? maybe i misunderstood ur first sentence but thats what i got out of it.
