Default Clutch/Flywheel for Stock GS-R

What would be the best clutch/flywheel replacement for a stock 96 GS-R?

I was looking at the ACT HDSS or Clutchmasters Stage 3... if I can get the Clutchmasters Stage 3 for $350 shipped, do you guys think I should go with that?

As for flywheel, should I just have mine resurfaced, or should I go for a replacement? I was thinking of the OEM Type-R flywheel or ACT StreetLite.

Let me know what you guys think...

how about an exedy organic with pressure plate, all the bearings and the alignment tool and a kaiten karui flywheel for right around 530.00 shipped?

I have an Exedy Stage 1 cerametallic in my H22 Teg, love it.

As for a flywheel ... I hear good things about Fidenzas. (I just resurfaced mine)

Stage 3 = total overkill for a stock GS-R.

My 94 is pretty much stock and I'm running a Clutchmasters stage 1 and Clutchmasters 7.5 lb flywheel, totally love it and have been running it for about 40K miles now.

I think I'm going to go with the Exedy Organic... people seem to be happy with it and its about $150 less than the ACT HDSS.

As for flywheel, what are the disadvantages of running a lightened flywheel (something like the ACT ProLite) on a stock GS-R?

Only disadvantage really that I have experienced in the past 40K miles is that when the A/C is on, RPM drops WAY faster between shifts with a light flywheel. But if you have a nice short-throw shifter, it's really not that much of an issue.

So really, no cons.

i just put the fidanza 8lb fw and exdey stage one in my car this weekend and ive got about 300 miles on the set up so far and i can say i love it. all this talk about less driveablity with lightened flywheels is bs. it took me no less than 15 min to have it down with no problems. the revs climb so much faster in the longer gears its awesome. i would recommend it to anyone.

i do say stage 3 is a lil much just for a stock gsr...but if your planning on doing more and more...i'd just do it right the first time to save you the work of pulling on and off the tranny...
