clutch break in?
Hey guys.. I just installed my Exedy stage 1 clutch and Fidanza aluminum flywheel. On the Exedy paper it said allow a 750 mile break-in period.. My question is, how do i do this? Keep it in low-rpms? under 4k? keep reving to a minimum? Thanks in advance
I'm not sure like the propper way if there is one but just go easy on it don't spin your tires at ever stop light and don't pop your clutch, try to slip it as Less as possible. just basicly take it easy on the car for that period of time after that then have your fun with the new clutch
I put a stage 1 in my car a while back and that thing grabbs real good
whats your clutch made out of? its probly metalic or semi metalic of sometype

i guess that means no hole shots out of the garage huh. yea it means just drive normal for 750 miles. as mentioned by everyone else no matter how tempting it is...dont do any hard launches or race like driving. Just drive normal u can beat the **** out of it for the next 75,000 miles there after
Yah.. i got the organic clutch from Exedy. Its very nice, I like it - especially with the lightweight flywheel the revs build a lot quicker. It is hard to take it easy - i love to take it to 8 every-now-and-then, but i know the effects of not breaking things in.
I have a local autox meet May 14th.. hopefully i've put 750mi by then - already have 100 from a sunday cruise
Thanks for the help guys.. I highly recommend this clutch and flywheel, so far
