I want to remove my climate control unit. So, how do I do this? I just want to ask before I go ahead and break anything.

You obviously want to remove your dash peice and you should see screws holding the climate control in. Also, before you pull it out, there is a steel cable that is connected on the upside of the passenger seat floor, unhook that before you fully remove it.
You may want to remove the climate control first (give it a slight tug) to find out where that steel cable is located (it's connected to the peice that you slide left/right to make it warmer/cooler).

Ok, I dont want to remove the dash. I know i can get the climate unit loose and i know that cable you are talking about, but can I still remove the climate unit without removing the dash???

Sorry, when I say dash I mean.. The plastic peice that covers your climate control/gauge cluster/etc. Sorry, I wasn't clear on that.
If you've ever removed your gauge cluster you have to take off that same peice.

The peice where your vents are on, you need to remove that peice to get to the screws that hold your climate control in.
so the plastic housing around the whole thing...That comes off? I Did not know that one. So i can take a flat head to it?

Yes, I sent you an IM on AOL, so I could help you out with this but you didn't respond back. It looks like your a trail user so you only get 5 posts a day.

Okay, roughly.. Here's what you need to do:
Move your steering wheel all the way down. On the underside of the top of the gauge cluster, there are 2 screws in there, remove those. There is one other screw on the very far right of the dash, it's hidden under a peice of plastic, remove the plastic peice and then remove the screw.
The rest of the dash is held in by clips. I suggest starting from one side and pulling the peice off, don't pull that hard because you don't want to damage anything. When you get it off, try and get your hand under there and remove the switches and what not.
Once you have the switches out, keep removing the clips until the peice is off.
Now, I did this on my brothers DA Integra, you didn't say what year you had, but if you have a DC (94-01) it should be relativly the same process.

assuming you have a 94-01, you dont have to do all that crap.
just use a small flathead screwdriver to pop off the hazard and rear defrost buttons, there are two screws behind them. unscrew them and unplug the switches. it'll pop right out.

ditto.... From there, you'll see 3 harnesses plugged in to the back of the climate control. Also, to make it easier to come out, look under the passenger side dash. You'll see a cable with an eye loop around a white lever. Unhook it off that lever (this lever controls hot or cold air coming in).

if all u want to do is remove the climate control, these steps are unnecessary. just take out the hazard and defrost buttons, unscrew the two screws behind them, unhook the cable under the dash on the passenger's side, unclip the electric stuff and pull it out. u just gotta be patient cuz theres not a lotta space.

The way I described it was on a DA Integra, I've never worked on a DC. The way I stated was the correct way to do it on a DA.
make sure u dont mess with the heater lever and dont move it. i messed with mines and guess what, i cant seem to get my AC to work now. all my car does it spit out hot air for some reason. i get it to spit out cold air.
i think its i messed up the alignment of the cable that control the heater core.

did u try taking out your climate control and checking if the wire is bent or not? that happened to me and it turned out i bent the wire. once i straightened it and re-attached it correctly to the core in the passenger foot well, it restored my AC

yeah, and for some reason, its harder for me to move the lever.
i did bend it and fixed the bend, also, the lever doesnt move all the way to the hot side. i have like one finger gap left.

uve reattached the loop to the heat core incorrectly. take it off the core, and move the heat lever all the way to the right and then re-attach it so it slips on easily with some slack. that should fix it as long as the wire isnt bent.

yes i have a 98...OK i have the same problem with the switch going all the way to the hot section. I will try what you guys said...One thing, i want to change my unit but i have my alarm light in the top center. I have not pulled it out to look yet but how easy is it to put the alarm light in the new climate control unit?
