Default Checked Compression Today

Well, my motor is spitting out a black liquid on my car so i figured it might be oil, so check the compression and other simple tests. I hook up my tester and take the reading off 1: 300(or higher, the needle stopped), same thing on all the rest of them, 300psi or higher all the way across.

So anyone know of where i can get a 400-500psi max guage? Can i just use any gauge, and hook up the quick disconnect to it?

If compression is good, possibly rings? Leakdown test?

I also run a oil cooler, so i could have something to do with that. Could also possible be the PCV too.

Any advice will be appreciated

Default Re: Checked Compression Today (BDBGoalie1982)

I alos forgot to add,
B18C Block - Fully balanced, ARP rod bolts, CTR Pistons
B16A Head - Full ITR internals, valvetrain and cams, milled .0035

Any chance the piston rings blow off due to high compression?
