My friend's 96 integra check engine light won't come on. He took it for a smog test today and the mechanic told him the check engine light should come on but its not lightning up. Haven't checked the car yet but what do you guys think this could be?

 

If the car runs, then the ECU probably isn't fried. That leaves a burned out bulb, bad wiring from ECU to bulb, or the bulb isn't getting power.
