Default check engine light...

hey guys i need some help or opinions on whats going on wit my 99 Integra. i was driving it today and my check engine light started to flash. the car was lugging when i shifted into every gear. it idles very low and makes a "ticking" sound. also when i go to 2500 rpms it makes a kind of humming noise that sounds strange. what could be the problem?

btw, all liquid levels look fine. maybe could use a tad bit more oil..

72 is a misfire in cylinder #2.

Misfire detection is accomplished by monitoring the crankshaft speed with the crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor which is attached to the crankshaft.

check :

-fuel injector clogging, fuel leakage, air leakage
-fuel injector circuit open or shorted
-spark plug carbon deposits, fouling, malfunction
-ignition wires open or leaking
-distributor malfunction
-compression low
-valve clearance out of spec.

good luck

With the idle issues and everything you could have a bent valve, or simply you might need a valve adjustment.

When did this start happening - was it gradual, or just immediately one day it happened?

Do you remember ever overrevving? That could be a tell-tale sign of valve issues...
