my vss gear stripped so my speedo stopped working and now my check engine light is on. the car is salvage so Im not really worried about it too much but will it hurt the engine to drive with check engine light on and vss broken. I seems to run okay but Idles high like 1200

Some kid told me it will burn out my o2 sensors and ruin my motor is this true?

 

its never safe to run with a check engine light on...you should get it checked..could be seriouse could be minor but you never know till you get it checked!

 

most of the time check engines are nothing major, nonetheless have it checked out.

 

I believe when your speedo gear isnt workin its going to throw a cel because the speedo isnt working... simple as that!

 

if you dont mind having the cel, just keep a check on it to make sure that the ecu isnt throwing a new code.
