changing a timing belt

changing a timing belt
Hello everyone. I am trying to get some info for a friend. He has a 1996 Integra special edition and asked if I would help him change his timing belt over x-mas break. He doesn’t know much about the engine and doesn’t have a shop manual. He will be picking up a chiltons before we start the work. I don’t have a teg so I was wondering if yall could point me in the right direction. Besides the timing belt, does he need anything else like water pump, tensioners, anything? Do we need to remove motor mounts, pulleys etc to get the job done? Is there a FAQ page or something that covers all this in detail? One last thing, how long should this take? I know it is a massive job on my avenger, hope it is easier on the teg!

Re: changing a timing belt (CGSinCC)
If you are changing the TB, you might as well change the water pump and tensioner as well. Its better to play it safe, then take a chance.
The above link should help greatly with visual aides. Invest in a Helms manual. It will be your friend's bible.
