Changing oil
I plan on changing my oil for the first time and I have a couple of questions.
(I have a G3 Integra)
1.) What oil filters and oil do you recommend? Where do you buy them?
(I've had my previous oil changes done by the dealer, so I'm not sure what they use)
2.) Any tips/tricks to make this job painless as possible?

Honda oil filter and Mobil 1 oil.
If they did the oil change properly last time, you should be able to reach down behind the manifold and get the oil filter off by hand. Just unscrew it and tilt it up so no oil leaks all over the place. Remember to put a thin coat on the seal of the new oil filter before you put it on.
Don't over tighten the drain bolt.
If you go get a filter from the dealer ask them to give you a new washer for the drain bolt.

2) drain the oil when the oil is warm but not HOT so that you don't burn yourself.. it drains a little quicker and more thorough IMO when the oil is warm... position your drain pan before you undo the drain plug otherwise its going to shoot out and make a mess all over the garage floor... get a wide/large drain pan... you can try to get to the filter from the IM by reaching your hand down.. this is what I usually do.. get to it from the top and I'm able to grasp and unscrew it by hand... put a thin coat of oil on the O-ring. .
make sure that the old O-ring from the old filter is not on the block.. it should be on the old filter.. if not then take it off the block and put the new O-ring (supplied w/ new filter) on the new filter and coat it w/ some oil.. I usually pour a little bit of oil in the filter and move it around to let it soak up to prevent dry startup.. maybe I'm paranoind... but I do this to all the cars.. I can put the filter back from the top.. but for a newbie/first timer.. I don't know if installing it from the top is that good of an idea because you might drop and dent the filter.. plus since your new to this.. you might not know where the oil filter nipple/threads are on the block.. so for install you might want to do it from the bottom where you can look.. but for me I've done many oil changes on diff cars.. so I don't have a problem doing it from the top...
some oil will come out when you take out the oil filter.. I try to catch most of it in the drain pan and I lay newspaper around so I don't get the garage too messy... after that... put on the new filter hand tight.. then give it a bit more of a turn so its snug/tight.. then put in a new crush washer and tighten the drain plug to the oil pan.. i think its 33 ft/lbs.. then fill the car w/ the required amount of oil 4.25 qt for GSR (b18C1).. I believe its 4 qt for LS, GS, RS, SE, etc.. (b18B) check the dipstick and then you should be good to go... after you've tightened the oil filter, drain plug, put back the filler cap and dipstick, and make sure you've retrieved all your tools.. start it up and check for leaks...and you should be done...
