Default Changing or checking plugs?

I am going to do a goos tune up maintenance on my teg soon. I was wondering how to check or change my plugs? I have never taken these off and do not know what all is entailed during this process. If anyone can give me some help or maybe a step by step on what the procedure is? Thx

get the right tools first, spark plug socket, ratchet, and extension(about 8 inches long).
buy new plugs, go with standard ngk's, thay are like $1.69 at your local auto shop.
remove the spark plug boots from the plug and number them so you know which plug they go to.
you will have to gap the plugs to the right specs.
if this is to confusing for you, invest the money and buy a repair manual, not the $20 at any suto shop, buy a helms manual, they are like $60 but well worth it.

he pretty much summed it up. use a 5/8 socket w/ extension, gap the plug, put back on wire boot, put back into cylinder.

well seeing as how u seem like a real newb to werkin on cars.. i'll be more detailed than the other guys.. but pretty much what they're tellin u is it. THe sparkplug wires just pop off. ok? so just pull upward on teh plug wires and they will come out. Next get that ratchet put on the extension bar so u can reach the spark plug which is way deep inside... and put on the spark plug socket. this socket is a little different from ur regular sockets cuz its a little deeper and usually has a rubber piece inside that will pop onto ur spark plug like the plug wires do... Then loosen the sparkplug n replace by doing everything in revers.

Cool, thx. I am somewhat of a newb to cars. Ive done all the work on my car so far including I/E shocks and springs and some other minor things, but i figure the best way to learn is to do right? Whats all this i hear about cross threading your plugs? Thx for the info

crossthreading is when u dont screw it on correctly and it gets srewed on crooked and ***** up the threading on both plugs n the head... but jus don't apply to much pressure when you do ur werk and u won't have a problem.. Oh and i didnt last time.. but some people recommend u use some antiseize on their so that it wont get stuck next time u try n replace them.
