Default CEL Code 90

Last night Code 90 came on, which is

Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area

I checked my gas cap, it was on tight(I always do 3 clicks). And it's still on, even after a long drive to work. What should I do.

Do a search, I had an old post with the same CEL 90 problem. My light is still on, but it could be several things:
gas cap
EVAP canister under the battery, check the connections
Cat. Converter

NOt sure, which is wrong on mine, don't have the $ to fix it right now. Let me know after you troubleshoot if you fixed it.

My bad, I guess you have it narrowed down to the fuel tank area, so go buy a new gas cap....

Reset the ECU and see if it comes on again. If it persists, take it to the dealership.

A friend's ITR had the same code. They either replaced the gas cap or the EVAP two-way valve. Can't remember.

I should hope so, otherwise they'll have a huge law suit and penalties slapped on them.

After you reset it, it takes 2 days for it to come back on. At least that's what happened to me.

Try filling the tank to full...with gas, of course. That might induce the problem again.

Until it comes up again, there's no case and really no point to bring it to the dealer....unless there's a specific recall on whatever part(s) that are affecting it.

I would get an OEM gas cap, not one of those Pep Boy caps. I got one of them for my CRX and they sucked, never fit tightly.
