cd player code question
While cleaning out my garage, i found my old cd player from my 96 gsr. The gsr is no longer with me due to the fact that it got stolen from SUPERIOR ACURA outside of Kansas City. My question is i would like to sell the cd player, but if i remember correctly you need a code or some **** to make it work in another car. My question is how do i get the code? Would i have to go the dealer in chicago (where i orginally bought it) or any acura dealer? If anyone knows anything it would be greatly apprecieated.
Finding the cd player was a ******* kick in the nuts cause it made me miss the old teg even more- stuck with a 2.0 VW jetta and **** hasnt been the same.
thank you for your time

just call up any acura dealership and give them the serial number on the cd player. they'll have the code for you in minutes.

if you read correctly he used to have a teg... now he has a VW. no use for the player now.

If you call Acura they will not, or should not at least, give you the code for it. Hence any idiot could go out and steal one for themselves or what not and just call up Acura to get the code. It would make having the code in the first place null and void.
I work at a Honda dealership and we require the owner of the vehicle to come in and then we plug the code on the face of the unit into Honda's database and it will pull up the code for the unit.
I would recommend you take it into a dealership and ask them to pull up the code for you, and if they hassle you about the possibility of it being stolen, tell them that your name or your parents name will show up in the vehicle history as well and that they can check it if they are questioning your story.
Hope this helps
