Installed Carbotech XPs up front and Ps in the rear. The XPs squeek like a **** all the time, cept when braking. Called up Carbotech and Larry wouldnt let me waste my money buying different pads, claiming that it wasnt the pad that was the problem, it was because they were dragging. Squeeling from low line pressure (not breaking) is proof of that. Recommended trying shims or the anti squeek compound. I tried the anti squeek goo, and it fixed my noise for about 100 feet then it came back. I followed the directions.
Any other ideas?

i have the carbotech p+'s, and driving to and from the track, they squeal like no other. i put the anti-squeak stuff on like you did to no avail. since then i have taken sandpaper and tapered the edges slightly. i havent put the pads back on since i havent been back to the track since then, but i heard that tapering them will do it. other than that, i dont know what else to tell ya. I tried some lithium grease on the metal brackets and that quieted it down some. What exactly do you mean by tapering the ends? Do you mean round the edges on the pad or actually taper the ends of the metal backing?
Anyone have any pictures?

I wanted to wrap up this thread. I was'nt able to ever get the Carbotechs to stop squeeling. They were clearly the wrong pads for my application. I did some more research on Honda-tech. I placed a call to Andie at http://www.cobaltfriction.com and spoke with him for about 30mins about my braking needs. He helped me sort out what was best for my application. I placed an order for Axxis Ultimates based upon his recommendation.
I sold my Carbotechs to a Honda-tech member for a lowsey $100 ($230 new).
After installing the Ultimates and bedding them in properly they worked great! I was very happy with their stopping power. They were much much better than stock and they had good braking power in any temperature. No squeeling what so ever. In my opinion the Axxis Ultimates are the most aggressive brake pad you can run on the street without the "race pad" side effects.
to Andie and all his braking knowledge!

Yeah Andie knows his stuff. I called him a few months ago and was looking for a street setup and a separate track setup. Reccomended the Axxis front and rear which are awesome pads for the street and also the Brembo blanks rotors.
I also ordered the Ferodo DS3000 race pads for HPDE's that i do quite often. So i only have to switch out the front pads for track days because the Axxis pads in the reare are more than good enough for the job. I can't wait to try out the Ferodo pads

These pads were designed to get you to and from the track so you don't have to waste time Saturday morning and Sunday evening changing your track-only pads in order to get to the track and back. You can wait and change the Panthers a day or two later at your convenience in your garage drinking a beer.
Edit: Carbotech currently also sells the Axxis Ultimate. Our own street formulation will be appearing probably next year as well.

When I decided it was time for me to upgrade my braking system I did some research first. I read that alot of Integra owners were using Carbotech pads. Not being an expert in brake pad technology, I called Carbotech. I spoke with Larry for about half an hour, as he absolutely loved talking (and talking) about brake pads. It seemed he knew what he was talking about. I did not come to Larry requesting the XPs! I told Larry what my car, application, and expectations were. I told him that I could tolerate some squeling and did'nt care about the dust, as I wash my car every week anyways. I came to Carbotech as an inexperienced customer. <If> I was ignorant and my brake pad choice was the XPs; and that was horribly wrong for my application, then why did your salesmen sell them to me?! I did not choose the XPs -> He ended up recommending the XPs up front and Ps in the rear.
As a salesman I realize that it is in their best interest to sell the customer the most expensive product possible. But if your salesmen arent like that stereotype and you (Carbotech) dont recommend the panther line for street use -> then how did I end up with them on a street driven car? Obviously it doesnt add up.
Either your saleman recommened a more expensive product that was totally wrong for my application, or Im a retarded customer and I demanded the most agresive product you sell. What are you trying to say here?
Then you come back and try to do a little PR cover up:
I know what was said - you dont. I took this as a lesson learned and sold the pads - taking a $130 loss. All in all, I still would buy Carbotech pads for the track as it is an excellent product for its intended application.
<U>The question raised is your salesmens' integrity.</U>

This is why we (carbotech) do NOT recommend the Panther line as an unlimited street use pad.
