cap and rotor
i have a 2000 integra with a 99 civic si head so its LS vtec. i am changing the cap and rotor now i easly got the cap off but the screw that holds in the rotor on is really stuck in there, i can not turn it at all all it does is strip out the screw. i was jus woundering if anyone has had this same problem and how they got the screw out, thanks for anyones help, brian
THey are a pain- it is not just you. I think if I recall right that screw has a hex on it, or I had to use vise-grips. Just keep trying, and use some PB blaster on it as well.
If you still can't get it out, go to the auto parts store and get some valve grinding compound. Just put a little on the head of the screw (if theres anything left of it) and use a screwdriver with some pressure and it should come out.
Dude I had the same problem too and I finally got my car to start but I had to buy a use distributor for my car. Yeah the bolt that connect to the rotor is a bithc and i did strip the bolt so i tok the dizzy out and broke off the rotor part and around the bolt area to get the nut off. I found another bolt that was the same and replace it with the old one. But after all that I somehow blew my dizzy maybe coil or iginiton since i crank my car when the cap was out and I needed to turn the rotor to get to the bolt. dont do that just turn your wheel to the left and crank it under your car with a tool. Now I need a timing gun to check the timing
